Bob Huggins, a renowned basketball coach from West Virginia, has stepped down from his position after being arrested on Friday for driving under the influence. This latest incident follows a previous suspension due to his use of an antigay slur. The sudden downfall of the Hall of Famer coach this offseason has been remarkable.


Bob Huggins is a former college basketball player and coach. He was born on September 21, 1953, in Morgantown, West Virginia. Huggins played college basketball at West Virginia University from 1975 to 1977 and later coached the team from 2007 to 2021.

Huggins has also coached at other universities, including Akron, Cincinnati, and Kansas State. He is known for his successful coaching career, having won over 800 games and leading his teams to numerous NCAA tournament appearances.

In August 2021, Huggins was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) in Morgantown, West Virginia. Following the arrest, he resigned as the head coach of the West Virginia Mountaineers men's basketball team.
