Is this the end of traffic congestion? Will an Israeli innovation free us from these crises?
As part of Drone Week held in Israel, the first test was conducted on a small drone capable of carrying passengers and relatively heavy cargo. It can serve as a taxi drone that transports passengers over long distances within the country.
This drone, called eVTOL, was tested as part of a week of trials conducted in various parts of the country by the Ministry of Transportation, the Innovation Authority, and the Civil Aviation Authority. These trials have been successful so far, proving that the drones can carry two passengers and a cargo weighing 250 kilograms for a distance of 160 kilometers in both populated and unpopulated areas.
Will we soon see these drones flying in the sky? It seems that this is closer than expected, and tomorrow is near.
The Israeli Innovation Authority is currently working on developing and enhancing this technology to prepare it for public use. These processions are anticipated to have a tremendous impact on resolving the issue of traffic congestion and enhancing transportation in both urban and rural regions. They can also be utilized during emergency and natural disaster relief efforts, where reaching affected areas using conventional transportation methods is challenging.
