"Public Discontent: Poll Reveals Nearly Half of Britons Criticize Starmer's Response to Riots"

A new opinion poll has shown that nearly half of Britons believe that Prime Minister Keir Starmer's handling of the riots that swept across Britain has been poor.

The poll, conducted by the British market research firm YouGov, found that 49% of the 2,114 adults surveyed believe that Starmer is managing the violence poorly, while only 31% think he is handling the situation well, according to the British newspaper The Telegraph.

Additionally, 43% of respondents believe that Home Secretary Yvette Cooper is dealing with the riots poorly. Only 14% of those surveyed said that politicians, in general, are managing the riots well. One in three supported non-violent protests that occurred alongside some disturbances. Furthermore, 67% of respondents attributed immigration policy as a factor behind the riots.

Starmer had pledged to confront the rioters with "the full force of the law" and announced another emergency meeting regarding the ongoing unrest.

Nearly 400 people have been arrested in connection with the violence that erupted in more than twenty cities and towns across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland over the past six days.
